The Cabinet is a piece of installation art created in 2018 and exhibited alongside a group of artists at Home(work) exhibitions at National Design Centre.

In the process of performing household chores, hidden objects are often to be found. Before one could decide the whereabouts of these reclaimed belongings, such items are kept temporarily in a cabinet.

The Cabinet explores the mundane qualities and repetitive patterns of fast-paced modern living and its effect on the regular habit of losing and finding everyday objects. This installation and the things displayed in the cabinet are traces of a profoundly collective experience of lost and found. Remnants of such entities have been gathered, reassembled and stored a little longer before one could rediscover their use in a given time set by the alarm.

Taking the form of an HDB flat, Home(work) is a community-centric and interactive installation looking at domesticity, labour, and the home. An exhibition commissioned by SAW (Singapore Art Week) at National Design Centre in 2019. Featuring artists Ben Yap, Ila, Isabel Yap, Izzad Radzali Shah, Emma Chong, Fiona Seow, Joseph Chiang, and Yang Jie.
