Biography

Emma Chong Ai Chzer 张爱慈, known as Emma, is a Singaporean artist and illustrator exploring themes of lived experiences, womanhood, and body. The narrative of her works are often a representation of shared stories and essences of womanhood. Through the laborious process of art making, sometimes consist of drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpting, other times domestic handicraft such as sewing and weaving, she seeks to explore the woman's body as an instrument, a repository that contains songs and stories, bearing both beauty and scars. The process also serves as a conduit for Emma to assess her emotions and thoughts, navigating intimate realms and confronting vulnerability, leading to reconciliation with her reality.  
In 2016, Emma founded her creative business - Studio Luna @lunabyemma where she offers custom illustration and creative services to her clientele, projects ranging from private commissions, corporate events and social media content creation. Her intricate style and meticulous attention to detail have attracted the attention of numerous international luxury brands and companies. Collaborations with renowned names such as Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Burberry, Salvatore Ferragamo, Jimmy Choo, Bulgari, Estee Lauder Companies, Prada, Christian Louboutin Beauty, Victoria's Secret, The Sheraton Towers Hotel, and Design Intervention speak to the calibre of her artistic prowess. Emma also shares her creative insights through nature-led creative workshops with a community of art enthusiasts alike. 
Emma is currently pursuing her BA (Hons) in Fine Arts at LASALLE College of the Arts (Goldsmith University of London).
