Beyond the borders is an assemblage created from found objects foraged along the coastline of Singapore. It delves into the varied notions of home, reflecting on my own experiences of transnational living and maternal instincts. The piece pays homage to my homeland across the border and serves as a bridge between the familiar and the unknown. By deconstructing found objects and repurposing their banality, the artwork transforms the mundane objects that once had a life of its own into an assemblage of narratives, bringing together shared stories and experiences of those who search for a sense of familiarity within their constantly evolving dwellings.
